About the Metropolitan Water Directorate

The Metropolitan Water Directorate leads a whole-of-government approach to water planning for greater Sydney and the lower Hunter. It also provides advice on NSW urban water policy and reforms and implements a comprehensive social research and engagement program.

Showcase is Metropolitan Water Directorate's major engagement forum. This one-day event featured presentations by experts on: contemporary engagement, behavioural insights, complexity methods, evaluation, sustainability leadership, and online engagement. 

Close to one million litres of water will be saved every day as a result of a ground-breaking partnership between the private sector and Sydney Water at the new residential and commercial development at Central Park Broadway, Minister or Natural Resources, Lands and Water Kevin Humphries announced today.


Alison White, Director, Metropolitan Water Directorate has commended 35 water engineers in local government who have participated in the NSW Government’s Community Engagement Training for Water Engineers program.
