Coordinating and integrating water education
The Water for Life program seeks to involve a broad cross section of water managers and educators from state and local government, community organisations and businesses across the Sydney metropolitan area.
The program builds knowledge and skills of stakeholders to deliver leading practice education and water projects through activities including partnerships, training, resources and network development.
Key Water for Life coordination projects include:
- Delivery of innovative capacity building projects to engage priority sectors in the community in saving water.
- collaborative development of the Water Education Plan for greater Sydney 2008-2012 (PDF)
- biennial progress reporting through the Progress Report on Water Education (PDF)
The Water for Life Education and Engagement Program continues to be overseen by the inter-agency Metropolitan Water Education Group.
Water for Life is funded by the NSW Government's Climate Change Fund.
