Have your say on the Lower Hunter Water Plan

The Minister for Finance and Services Greg Pearce today launched a new website for the Hunter community to have their say on the development of the Lower Hunter Water Plan.

The Minister for Finance and Services Greg Pearce today launched a new website for the Hunter community to have their say on the development of the Lower Hunter Water Plan.

Mr Pearce said the launch of the Lower Hunter Water Plan ‘Have your Say’ website marks the start of an extensive community consultation program where the Hunter Community can have their voices heard on key water issues.

“The Lower Hunter Water Plan is being developed by the NSW Government in close consultation with the community, to provide long term water security for the region,” Mr Pearce said.

“The ‘Have Your Say’ site will incorporate an on-line forum, information sheets, a calendar of events and news items with participants to be able to comment and keep up to date with the latest developments on the plan.

“There will also be a series of community and stakeholder workshops on aspects of the plan at a number of locations in the region.

“The workshops will begin in early December and focus on sharing information on the planning process and seeking feedback from the community on their values relating to water planning.

“The community has a great opportunity to contribute to the development of a plan that provides lasting solutions for the lower Hunter region.

“When we established the Lower Hunter Water Plan process last year I gave a commitment that the community is at the centre of this planning process. I am very pleased to be able to deliver on that commitment,” Mr Pearce said.
