Have your say on the Metropolitan Water Plan review

Community workshop participants demonstrating daily water use

Community and stakeholder consultation plays a key part in the current review of the Metropolitan Water Plan. Consultation activities include workshops, online engagement on the Have Your Say website and community surveys.

The first round of community workshops for the review is now complete. Workshops were held in Sydney CBD, Parramatta, Penrith, Campbelltown, Brighton-le-Sands, Wollongong and Chatswood. Workshop participants were randomly selected according to their age, gender, housing type, and cultural and linguistic diversity. This ensures we speak to people that are representative of the area they live in.

At the workshops we discussed how participants use water in their home, and what options we have for supplying and managing water during a drought. As 65% of water is used in residential dwellings, we need to understand whether demand for water will increase in the future and by how much.
